In order to produce a tile with properties similar to those of a through-body tile, two separate raw materials are compressed together during production. The top 3mm of the tile is made of a colored substance to give the surface color and character, while the base of the tile is often white. On a double-loaded tile, there is typically no pattern. The chip on the tile is not visible if it is smaller than the thickness of the top layer.
